Description
The Ubiquiti airFiber AF-5XHD-EU is a professional 5GHz carrier-class wireless backhaul radio designed for high-performance point-to-point (PtP) network connections. It is particularly suited for Wireless Internet Service Providers (WISPs), enterprise networks, surveillance backhaul and building-to-building connectivity where high throughput and long-distance wireless transmission are required.
Powered by Ubiquiti’s LTU technology, the AF-5XHD is designed to overcome some of the limitations of conventional 802.11-based wireless systems. It supports selectable channel bandwidths from 10MHz up to 100MHz, adaptive modulation up to 4096QAM with supported firmware, and a maximum throughput of more than 1Gbps under suitable conditions.
The radio supports configurable GPS synchronization, programmable uplink/downlink traffic ratios and split TX/RX frequencies, providing flexibility for demanding wireless backhaul deployments. It also includes spectrum-analysis capabilities and AES-256 encryption for secure wireless communication.
The AF-5XHD features two Gigabit Ethernet ports, passive PoE power, an external GPS antenna and compatibility with airFiber X and Rocket mounting systems. An IP67 upgrade kit is included for enhanced weather protection after installation. Compatible 5GHz airFiber X or RocketDish antennas are required to create the complete wireless link.
